MCS was responsible for the design and installation of Alumasc flat roofing, Eurobond composite cladding (walls), and Kingspan composite roofing and gutters on this £100 million manufacturing and R&D facility in Newport. Working with Andrew Scott Ltd, we handled the roofing design in-house while coordinating with external designers Blueprint for the cladding. Accurate Revit model coordination ensured a seamless, high-quality result.

The 240mm Eurobond wall cladding, installed both vertically and horizontally, required careful planning due to the size and weight of the panels. These, along with the gutters, were craned into position. The procurement of materials, including the Knotwood battens sourced from Australia, presented logistical challenges, as the battens needed to be ordered in precise cut lengths. Our procurement team played a critical role in coordinating multiple suppliers and ensuring timely delivery of all materials, enabling us to meet project milestones.

This success was a testament to the hard work and collaboration of the wider MCS team, from our procurement experts to the operatives on-site, whose efforts ensured the project was completed on time and within budget. The continuous feature flashing we detailed and installed further enhanced the building’s architectural integrity, reinforcing Newport’s position as a hub for high-tech manufacturing.
